I got one for Christmas and have to say I was expecting more. It does a great sharpening job on the kitchen knives and did ok on most of my outdoor knives. Got my big Forschner brisket knives to shaving but from what I had read on this unit, I was expecting "scary sharp" or at least Cutco sharp. I could get all my knives to shave by hand sharpening before so I guess this sharpener is just a time saver and probably gives a more consistent edge than I get on a wet stone.

Maybe I'm obsessing in search of that elusive surgical edge?

                        I got one.

I demo it on my truck (I am a reseller)...

I hunt a mythical deer and shop for that perfect knife sharpener, but I cant do a knife by hand.

I had an issue with one knife, so ...now I only use the belt that is going down, I use the same side for both sides of the knife. And I have had no issues. It appeared on the one knife that it "curled" the blade a little, but only on the one side. I hope this makes sense and helps.

if yoiu email WorkSharp customer service the guy there will send you a pdf of his own special tips on how to get that surgical sharp edge. and he has some really helpful warnings - like only do 3-4 swipes on Swiss Army knives because they are so thin and heat sensitive.
