I use Ozonics and dont worry about the wind or using sprays. I use it in tree stands and pop up blinds.

I always hunt in a mask and put a dropof cover scent on my mask in front of my mouth.I also try rinse with my mouth with peroxide or use gumofluage before I hunt.Breath odor is a big deal I think.Mainly because no other scent is actually propeled away from the body.
Has anybody tried the camo filter masks that look like surgical masks ?

When air is warming it will rise and when air is cooling it will fall. It is more noticable to me when the winds are light.
I will take chances with the wind when the air is warming (usually on a cold morning) because often times the scent is lifting and will go over them. Whereas, when air is cooling (usually in the evenings) scent will fall.
Some people with a story of a deer downwind and not spooking can attribute to the air warming and thus their scent rising. I know, somebody knows somebody that had a deer downwind in the afternoon. I'm just sayin'.
All that being said, I think it is best to not take chances with the wind and not hunt a stand if the wind is wrong.
I think cover scent is a must. Deer usually spook from it, but they don't know it was human.
