    Friends that borrow you stuff?

Ok, so my good friend asked to borrow my gun to go duck hunting and of course said yes!!!! I got it back today with the barrel all scratched up…. So am I a jerk for making him buy a new gun?????? It’s a Super Black Eagle II, that I have only had for a few years. I think I paid 1200 or 1500 for it. I told him we could order a new barrel but I’m sure it’s going to cost half of a new gun? So the question is do you let friends borrow your stuff???????? He is a good friend so that’s why I feel bad about the whole thing. He feels bad about it as well.

Chalk it up as a lessoned learned... I had too once and I will never ever even let my BIL, best friend, whoever borrow anything besides something from my pantry-period! Hunting stuff, fishing, truck, anything in my garage is off limits for a borrow!

Lending and borrowing has ended many good friendships. Sorry about your gun and your friend.

If he's a good friend he will understand that he should have to pay for it. You could always have him pay to get it dipped in camo.

id let only 4 ppl i know borrow my stuff my dad, my BIL, my cousin< and my best friend cause i know they take good care of their stuff and if something happened then i would know it couldve happened to me just as easy. So allowing it to leave my possesion i would know that would be a possibilty and a complete accident an not just sure neglect so therefore i would have to eat the cost of whatever. with that bein said they all wouldnt make it where id have to say anything they would replace it on their own!

What was he doing with it, shooting it off a barbed wire fence for a rest?

I learned a long time ago not to loan anything to my friends

Have your barrel refinished with duracoat or ceracoat and send your friend the bill
