Before next Christmas- they now make an electric fryer that fits a 20 pound bird. No open flame and it keeps oil temp perfect the whole time. Safe enough to use IN the house. Pretty sure they sell them at Walmart. Better and no fire hazard!

Everyone do yourselves a favor and search for alton brown and deep frying a turkey. Hes got a simple contraption and step by step instructions on how to dovit all. The only unitasker in a kitchen is a fire extinguisher

Try baking. It actually works pretty well. I have never felt the need to fry a turkey.
