At one time Cudde was the class of the field in trail cameras...now they are just one of many trail cameras made in China.

▲This pretty much says it all....▲

I have over a dozen 69$ Moultrie D40’s. Only one of them has quit, and I sent it back ,and they sent me back a brand new cam free of charge; no questions asked ;within 6 days after they received it.

We put the D40 t next to a cudde model from that time, and the Moultrie outperformed the Cudde, hands down…. It wasn’t even close.

Plus I can buy 3 of these cams for the price of 1 Cudde. And they are all still working……

You can’t always believe what some little skinny fella tells you on tv…….

You have to do your homework on these trail cams…...one batch could be good, and another be bad; or have a specific problem. Sounds like quality control & customer service might be lacking, as well as camera performance.

Look up ” Chasin Game” on the web; they test all the cams, & write reviews on them. Check them out; they will save you a lot of money, and headaches……They sure did for me.

I've still got my original cudde out in the field. After tens of thousands of pictures it's still going. If I could only find another.

Perhaps I have been just downright lucky with my Cuddebacks over the years. Had one issue and I was sent another camera immediately. One of the other posters on this thread was very favorable to Moultries. I would not have another Moultrie even if it was free. I guess some cameras are just lemons no matter what brand they are.

One more confimation from a Cudde hater. My pictures were great quality...for about 18 months. Then went the LED. Followed by all of the internal workings of the battery houseing. I'm sure the camera would have lasted really well if I had mounted it on a wall inside my house.

Like so many other outdoor product companies, I think the premium price on the Cuddeback is to cover their marketing rather than their procuction and quality control costs.

I have used a Cuddeback since 2005 and have had good luck with it. It finally died. The heat got to it this summer I suppose. I bought two Attack IR's and did the trade in thing for the Attack flash. I have been out of the country and have not had a chance to use them yet. I will see. I hope I have better luck than you ultrastealth.

Like most companies, however, they got too big and product quality has really gone down hill. I estimate our failure rate at about 33% per year now, and we own six of them. After the warranty period (6-12 months) they will send you a refurbished camera for $75 plus shipping (this is the same camera that Bass Pro recently had on sale for $100) or you can exchange your bad camera for the newest model for $150 plus shipping. I really used to spout their virtues, but their products have really become unreliable, and the cost of keeping functional ones is getting too expensive. I hate to say this, but I'll have to look elsewhere for my next one.
Welcome to the club. I posted this same thing last year. But my cameras were only 2 & 6 months old. They wanted me to send them 12 pictures from each camera. Then if it is the camera the charges would be what you stated above. That's BS for virtually new cameras. The batteries do not last as long as the ones I'm using now! These are awesome so far.... Needless to say I told the guy forget about it. You lost another customer and more to come because I am about to post this online for all to read.
I'm now using a small bushnel camera that's $149 at Walmart. It is one of the 4"x 6" cameras that run on 8 AA batteries. The battery life is supposed to be a year. I believe it is true because so far they been taking pictures since June and still working as of yesterday. It think they are going to make a year.
