Our buddy we hunt with called us today to tell about his coworkers incident over the weekend. The game warden stopped by their camp as they were heading out to check a trap. The warden tagged along. There was a deer in the trap so after releasing the deer, the warden fined him and made him cut the roof off the trap. Said the warden wouldn't leave until they found something to remove the top and saw that it was done.
I understand it's against the law to trap deer but that was not the target. Has something changed now and says traps can not have tops to prevent trapping deer?
