    Omelets in a bag

Didn't know if everyone has ever done this at hunting camp or at home. This is a great way to cook omelets without having to wash a bunch of dishes. Put a couple eggs in a FREEZER ziplock bag, along with bacon bits, peppers, cheese, ham, mushrooms, etc. Then squeeze all the air out of the bag and seal it. Shake it up real good so that the eggs separate. Boil a pot of water and stick your bag or bags in the water for about 13 minutes. The more eggs in a bag the longer it takes. When time is up, dump omelet out of bag onto a paper plate and you have a great omelet. The best part, no scrubbing dishes. We do it on Christmas morning with all the family and everyone can have there own special omelet and all be cooking at the same time.

Thanks! So the bag doesn't melt in the boiling water? Gotta try this.

Notice it says freezer bag. Important element. They are just a little thicker I guess. I have used. Regular one before and sometimes they will get a hole in them.

Be sure it is a FREEZER bag like it said or you will have amelte mess on your hands!

Cory used to make those down at the lease when he was around six. He would give everyone an order form for their ingredients. Everyone got custom omelets. Made him feel grown up that he made all the men breakfast.

I cook them like that all of the time in the microwave at the office. You can use a regular zip sandwich bag, too. make sure you leave a slight opening in the bag. Ususally about 45 - 60 seconds for 2 eggs in one bag. It comes out of the bag in the perfect shape for a breakfast taco...
