Bozeman, where the craft beer, beard oil and Patagonia vest flow like wine and the hunting personalities flock like the Salmon of Capastano?!?!
There are still lots of good places outside of Bozeman. My family is from Red Lodge and Roscoe areas. Pretty country, but lots of bears.
As for moving out west, WY would be my pick. OTC tags, I can hunt wilderness anytime I want and the non-residents can't, I hate that law by the way and had to deal with it last year, and no income tax state. Lots of cheap places and lots of WIND!!! ha ha ha

I too would love to have a WY residency, but where can you live?
BTW if you had to deal with the non res in wilderness rule, do you know what the punishment for violating it is? Asking for a friend.

Laramie is a cool town, but I grew up in the sticks so there is that. Cody is bad arse as well, great hunting and fishing right out of town.
As for law breaking, I believe they sick a grizzly on you and then send what is left to pound you federal pen...but I could be way off and they simply give you a fine and a strong worded letter from the state????
I'm sure we will get a WY resident tell us about the firing squad at noon and how you have to bring your own cigarettes, but then again who knows these days.

LOL on the law breaking. I am so much of a worry wort that when I doubt I could do it even if it was a strongly worded letter.
I too hate and abhor the law. That land is just as much mine and yours as any citizen of WY.

What hunt you put in for? You have enough points to draw? That’s the one good thing about Colorado is you pretty much know if your gonna draw or not.

Unless a ton of the people who jumped in and bought a point last year apply for that unit you should be good. Seems a lot of the lower point units are having 50% point creep or so per year. So if that’s the case you will have over 50% anyway.

Put in for a "Come home to Hunt" tag in Montana. Brother has 25 tree stands set up in the Little Snowy's up by Judith Gap. The hardest part is picking the right stand on any given morning. lol
If I don't draw that I guess I will get a general tag and hunt outside of Bozeman, brother has some land by Big Sky.
Getting excited already and it is the first of April!
