Kifaru's tac frame can't be beat with the heaviest of weights. It's unfortunate that it took them so long to development a bag that I liked.

Reckoning is three years to late.

It's nice to have three great companies EXO/kifaru/stone that offer exceptional packs with a ton of interchangeable bags and features. Not to mention customer service that is second to none. Win win for us that's for sure

I completely struck out on all my draws this year, Colorado OTC for me... I like my mechanical setup right now. I see where frontal or quartering to would be tough but I can't beat the confidence I have in my setup right now.

Otc or landowner tag in one of the cheaper NM units was my original plan if I didn't draw. Do you have a unit that you have hunted and gotten into elk b4?

Yeah we got into some elk in 45 last year but I think we are going a different route this season. I think my hunting partner has hunted southwest CO and gotten into some good numbers. It's all a guessing game honestly, the weather and pressure play too big of a role every year.

A couple of my buddies are going the landowner tag route in New Mexico. If they come home with a good report then I'll think of that in the future.

What part of the Unit did you hunt. 45 is always my third choice. Two years ago I did really well there. Now I don't think a 45 Unit voucher is worth 3kplus.

Met another New Mexico guy last night who has hunted the unit I drew. He was super nice and helped me out even more. These bulls were all in my unit. The deadhead and the palmated bull were the area I'm hunting.

Dang it boy!!! There are no elk or deer in that unit, no roads either, that way all the road hunting folks in NM stay out of there. However, you will see lots of folks driving the two roads with a dude in the back with a nocked arrow. Just saying, but road hunting is THE Land of Enchantment past time. ha ha ha
