anybody know an outfitter with a landowner tag or a good outfitter in an OTC state, I'm looking for a hunt under $10,000 but I never remember about or want to mess with the draws and the application process. A wall tent hunt would be wonderful with realistic chance of 330"+ bulls.

Those seem like really reasonable expectations.

I just put in for Colorado pp for deer and elk. Shocked to find it cost $900 to do it.... All that gets refunded after the draw right, minus the habitat stamp?

Kinda getting up there like New Mexico, just didn't expect it I guess.

Hell I have about $6000 coming back to me if I don't draw anything. $5100 of that is coming from Colorado.

I think I added it up the first year and I spend around $1500-1800 non refundable on apps and points in all the different states per year. I have points in

              Colorado
              Wyoming
              Montana
              Nevada
              Arizona
              Utah

Also put in for New Mexico and will probably put in for Idaho next year for sheep or goat.

PM me your # and I will shoot you the outfitters number we used last year. I wouldn't hesitate to go with him again. We didn't kill a 330" but we went 3/4 on shot opportunities on solid bulls. Killed 2 that were in the 290-300" range 6x6 bulls.

You and I are living very different lives. Good for you. Wish I could make all that happen.

I look at is as a long term investment. In 8-10 more years I will have a good tag to draw every year in a different state each year.

I'm sort of on your plan but with only getting points in CO, WY, and AZ. Hoping to draw a "pretty" good tag every year starting now. Went OTC CO last year and hoping for a step up using 3-4 points in WY and CO most years on elk and MD with an occasional antelope mixed in. And a few more points every 7-8 yrs on an AZ hunt. And hoping to get lucky in NM somewhere in there.

Observation on Colorado Statistics for 2016. We hunted unit 71 2nd Rifle last year. Hunted for a week with 6 guys all over the unit and spoke to numerous camps in different areas. We only talked to one camp that killed anything and that was a cow.

Stats show 116 Bulls and 33 Cows killed. I could be wrong doesn't seem anywhere close to accurate to me.

I have attached the link if anyone else wants to review and see if their observations match the harvest estimates.

6 states points for multiple species in each state. One hunt per year. I will have at least 8-10 years of good hunts.

I have some access to landowner tags in New Mexico Unit 18.

2 Bulls and 2 Cow tags for $5000.00 for all of them. It is a private land only hunt but there is a ton of country to hunt. That price comes with a day that someone will show you the ranch but its basically a DIY hunt other than that.

I would suggest this hunt be done with a rifle around the first of October. It is lower type elk country and it can very thick in some places but when you find a good one he could be 350 inches or better.

If you need further info just PM me.

Bet you won't have access to those tags very long. Sounds like a good deal!
