We went late archery elk in AZ this past fall. Real hard hunt but couldn't close the deal

Using the elk hunt as motivation to get off my butt and get in shape.

We hacked the system and put you in for a desert kangaroo Rat Hunt. [emoji15] [emoji23]

It's no matter, I won't draw anyway!!!! ha ha ha But I do hear they eat good, and way lighter than an elk packing it out.

Luckily I have extra Kangaroo Rat points in AZ and southern CA.

I'm starting to try and figure out where the heck to hunt next year. My NZ trip got postponed until next May so I'll be spending 8-10 days chasing elk. I've got 3 pts in Colorado, Arizona, Nevada and Utah and 4 in Wyoming. Been looking around on gohunt. Seems in Colorado I can't draw any more units that I can't with 3 points until it jumps to 6 points except for one but it may be worth waiting for.

Got my bonus today and looking to get something for hunting the mountains. Just got a peep sight for my muzzleloader. I currently have:
Good boots
Gps with onXmaps
Camo. Cheap army surplus tops and bottoms
Homemade meat pack made out of Alice pack frame
Cheap day pack

Looking for ideas from more experienced folks.
