My kind of deer....love to kill those spikes.....had the same experience with my 2506 the 2nd day of the season...shot an 8 point high in the right lung from a tower blind...bullet was angled from high to low....didn't exit and didn't bleed a drop...lucky we made circles and walked up on him ...dead....didn't bleed till he hit the ground...2506,winchester factory PSP...120 gr......time to handload

Try Hornady, I haven't had anything run more than 40 yards with my 25-06, including hogs.

Cool looking unusual spike congrats, I used a 7mm Mauser(7X57) for a long time I always used Hornady Custom Ammo 139gr spire point boattails. They were hard to find but worth every penny and they held a very good pattern at the range.
