    18 in spike.

Been seeing this guy on trail cam for the past two months. Was checking feeders and saw him in person for the first time. He was running a doe. He stopped 75 yards from me. Made a good shot. Four inches behind front leg. No blood. Looked for hours. Found him yesterday . Stoped by ranch to feed cows on my way home and took a chance on walking a draw. No exit hole. Not impressed with core locks. 7x57 140 grain. Not sure what happened. Not a drop of blood was found.

I shot a 150 grain Core-Lok 7mm Ultra Mag, and to date I had had 5/6 Deer drop dead in their tracks, 1 ran 20 yards

eastxtman-- those deer drop more because of the cannon than the brand of bullet.

what an interesting spike. wonder if he will ever be more than that!

You should sena a pic of that deer to chew (TCHA). He would be proud of you!

                      Congrats!

That's a spike in the truest sense of the word. Sorry you didn't make an immediate recovery and I'm sure you lost the meat. However, the important part of it is that you got him out of the gene pool.

My kind of deer....love to kill those spikes.....had the same experience with my 2506 the 2nd day of the season...shot an 8 point high in the right lung from a tower blind...bullet was angled from high to low....didn't exit and didn't bleed a drop...lucky we made circles and walked up on him ...dead....didn't bleed till he hit the ground...2506,winchester factory PSP...120 gr......time to handload

Wow, that one sure did need to be taken out of the breeding population. Good job.
