Yeah that's one of the main reasons why accidents like that happen. They're curious because whoever they live with feels like they need to lock guns up instead of teaching their kid about them and why they should be left alone. It's the same way with anything. When I was little I was rarely ever in a house where a loaded gun wasn't accessible. But there was never a problem with it because my brother and I were taught at an early age that guns aren't something to mess with but we weren't sheltered from them either. We knew they were there and we knew what they were capable of doing. We also knew that we would get a whoopin like we never had before if we did mess with them.So it was just a natural thing for us to see a shotgun leaned in the corner and we never thought anything about it.
My step-dad had a stack of Playboy magazines in a drawer in the garage. My brother and I knew those were something we weren't supposed to look at or even know about. But we found them and we snuck out there and looked at 'em any time we had the chance.Ornery little kids like things they aren't supposed to mess with.Curiosity sure got the best of us.Better a harmless ol' magazine than a loaded gun huh?
Anyways..........back to the conversation about home invasions. Those are really the pits aren't they? That will put a damper on your day won't it?There ya go.......got yall back on track instead of completely changing to the subject.I did a good job,I fixed it.

      no trespassing

      Tx Chuck
Pretty sure anyone that is trespassing on my place at night will have seen the NO TRESPASS SIGNS. And after they are dead, it will be pretty hard for them to defend the arguing that they were not threatening my life or my family's. This is Texas. My property is totally fenced and has locked gates with the signs below on fence. No mercy for terrorist.

I hope if they come in my house and see all the dead animals on the walls they will think ohhhhhhhh *&^% we need to get out of here or maybe next. I do not have a home invader yet but could make a spot for one...do you need a tag?

This was told to me recently by my next door neighbor who works for the Department of Interior, NPS in Johnson City.

A longtime co-worker at the Johnson City office decided to take a half a day off on the spur of the moment. She is single, living alone in her own home in Marble Falls. She entered her home and found what looked like a family (will decline to profile here) sitting at her kitchen table eating a meal prepared from her fridge, freezer and pantry. When she walked in, they scattered like scared rabbits, some running right past her out the front door, some out the other door. She was lucky....obviously they didn't want anything but to eat. You could come up with a lot of different what-ifs on this. Last I heard they hadn't caught anyone.

This isn't the same kind of home invasion as gunman forcing their way into your home while you are there....but I call it home invasion anyway.

I wonder what a .45 would do to a knee cap?

Shooting someone trespassing on your property at night will likely find you in jail before they get to hell.
If they are not able to testify then it's you word against.......... Never mind.

aim small miss small. Move your aim 2 - 3 ft higher and aim center mass

I have a 4 year old and he knows not to touch any firearm. I will make my glock safe, double and tripled checking it. Leave the mag out and pulling the trigger multiple time to insure that it is unloaded. Set up the baby monitors with the video on where it is on the gun and set the gun on the coffee table, on top of the tv remote. Tell my son to bring me the tv remote off of the coffee table to test him to see what he would do. Every time he will run back to me and say daddy there is a gun on the coffee table and I can't touch it.

You should teach your children about gun saftey even if there are no guns on your house. Because one day they will be at one of their friends house and there will be a gun there.

I was always raised around guns... Dad (bowcrazy) always had them locked up but I knew where the key was... Never cared where the key was cuz I knew if I touched em he'd know... Got caught doing a lot of dumb things but never messed with the guns
