    Home Invasions

I'm just amazed at the increasing number of home invasions I've been hearing about in the Houston area. Probably the same in other areas, but I live around Houston and hear about those more. In my CHL class a police officer was there and he said there is a home invasion during the day every day lately in The Woodlands, and Kingwood areas, because of their close proximity to I45-N and I59-N. My dad likes to make fun of me saying I'm arming for the end of the world! Lol.

I've been hearing a lot in the Beaumont area, and also it seems like every day someone is robbed at gun point. Individual, business etc. Not just in dark alleys either, broad daylight or places that are heavily populated.

All the more reason to have a weapon, know how to use it and be prepared to defend yourself and your family and have your family prepared as well.

Yes. There is no safe place. Anyone who is not prepared and thinks they're safe at home is kidding themselves. Being prepared is more than just owning a gun.

Theres is nothing wrong with arming yourself for the end of the world. My wife always says she feels sorry for anyone that tries to break in while Im home cause it would be WWIII in hell of gun fire.

My wife has finally started listening to me and keeping a pistol in the night stand. First it was a 357 revolver. I explained to her the benefits of having a XD 9mm with a laser and a full huge magazine compared to the six shots of the revolver. Now she keeps the 9mm handy.

Unfortunately people dont normally sit around the house armed...When people kick in your door who are armed there is no time to react. Usually you are out numbered and out gunned. I agree the POS's will do it to the wrong house and pay a very heavy price for their transgressions...We can only hope no innocent folks get gurt before that happens.

I am glad you are arming yourself but I hope a gun is not stored open in a nightstand especially with kiddos around.
I remember going to a neighbor kid's house when I was young and him pulling his dad's revolver out of the nightstand. We played cops and robers or cowboys and indians all the time. thank God nothing bad happened that day.

If you teach your kids from the start about gun safety ^^^^^ this should never happen. Both of my girls know full well about guns and never touch them.

The gun goes back in the safe in the morning. I take both kids shooting all the time, and they are both smart about guns and respect the danger. Once a friend of my 8yo daughters was over and she kept begging my daughter to get out a pistol and show her. Even after her relentless pleading, my daughter kept saying no, telling her we don't touch any guns when dad isn't with us. They were all locked up, but I told her I was proud of her for being so responsible.
