Anyone get burned out on compound "does"?

I still get all kindsa stirred up when I shoot a big buck with my compound. But ive noticed for several years now shootin does with my compound is kinda like shootin rabbits now. Even at my place in Hardin County were the deer are highly pressured and dont come out in the daylight too much. Ive been thinkin I may stick with compounds when I have my buck tag to fill and the fact I love tinkerin with em so much. But I'm really thinkin going total Trad on does and such. To me huntin is about that big knot i get in my stomach when i start to tighten the string up. Its gone with the does with my compound. Yes I do love the meat as well. Maybe its just a phase. Anyone else go or goin thru this???

    no...

havent shot a deer with my bow in 12 years... I have bad hunting spots with few deer, and if I do see one they are so spooky I cant even get drawn...

come hunt my place for a while, and maybe you will get excited when you just see deer!!!

    pigs are fun though...

    Im getting the rifle out...

    good luck to you...

Thats why I stopped hunting high fences.. Way too easy.

But yes, I went through that before...once. Get a not so great of a place and you will get the fever back real quick..after a few hunts of getting busted or not seeing anything.

Kinda one of my points. I do also hunt a place were you may go all season and not get a shot. Just still cant get charged up with a compound on a doe. And worst part is id much rather have a doe to eat and almost 100% of all deer ive had jump the string have been slick heads. So its not like theyre easy to kill.

then how do you say shooting a doe is like shooting rabbits?

if you dont see em for a month. then may see one or two. you would still have the excitement...

Its like shootin rabbits cuz i dont get excited. Aint tryin to brag here but the 9 point i killed this year was my 102nd big game critter with a bow. That might be the why im goin thru this.

I just remember a time when a big doe came in and i would dang near shake myself outta the tree. Just want it back i guess.

Man, I would have been fired up to get a doe with my Mathews! We have plenty around the lease, just never got an opportunity. I'm hoping they'll come out later in the season and let me try again. For now, I'm bringing out the .308.

So why hunt this place where you may not see a deer the entire season if you have a place where you can kill all you want?

102? Who keeps count like that?

And even if you hunt East Tx style and get 1 per month year round thats 9 years. How long you been bowhunting?

You should go with Trad gear if it makes hunting more fun.

I don't get it. A wise old cagey foot stompin other deer spookin doe can be a challenge to shoot. And when you do get a shot it better be close or she'll duck so low while twisting and turning that you'll feel silly.

JMO...but those old does can be a rewarding challenge, I feel that way as I've killed two this year. The third doe I killed wasn't like this but became very jumpy after a large Gas Compressor kicked off about a half mile away.

                            Carry on.

                              hummm...

Ive killed like 5... or maybe 6... never killed a "trophy" 100+ inch deer.

I guess maybe thats why? I dont know what to tell ya. I dont think hunting and the thrill of it will ever go away for me.

I cant afford to hunt ranches/guided hunts that offer me animals on a platter, and just go out and shoot and have fun. I have to actually hunt anything I take or have taken on low/no fence hunting situations that are affordable for me (have less deer or no trophy deer) that are poached year round and scared of EVERYTHING...
