Not me. The doe here behind the casa don't pattern, they really don't. They have it too good during bow season around here, too much browse and min.blocks and feeders and big tanks(mine and the gun hunter neighbors). Thing is, Bow season is Doe season in my county. If anyone would like me to kill some doe for them in trade for farm/handywork let me know.

Get a longbow and the feeling will be back- I went thro9ugh the same thing as you. Killed plenty of critters with a training wheels and it got like a rifle when I was shooting hogs and does. I wouldnt get the shakes at all. Missed my first shot with a longbow. Shot a doe about an hour later and it was as good as the first deer I shot with my wheels. Ive shot about 15 critters with a wood bow now and every one of them is a trophy and gets my knees knocking.

Even at my place in Hardin County were the deer are highly pressured and dont come out in the daylight too much. Ive been thinkin I may stick with compounds when I have my buck tag to fill and the fact I love tinkerin with em so much. But I'm really thinkin going total Trad on does and such. To me huntin is about that big knot i get in my stomach when i start to tighten the string up. Its gone with the does with my compound. Yes I do love the meat as well. Maybe its just a phase. Anyone else go or goin thru this???
Maybe you should take up Traditional, that way everything is a trophy.

But yes, I went through that before...once. Get a not so great of a place and you will get the fever back real quick..after a few hunts of getting busted or not seeing anything.Originally posted by RiverRat1 View PostSo why hunt this place where you may not see a deer the entire season if you have a place where you can kill all you want?
102? Who keeps count like that?
And even if you hunt East Tx style and get 1 per month year round thats 9 years. How long you been bowhunting?
You should go with Trad gear if it makes hunting more fun.

He said 102 big game animals too so there you go assuming again..... There a plenty of folks who kill alot of
Deer/hogs, etc with their bows so no need to go questioning how long someone's been hunting, etc........

I know a few guys that kill over 100 hogs, in a single year. Those are big game, right?
