I have seen some coyotes that were large and looked very much like a wolf in the face. I won't say they were wolves but that was my first impression and they didn't act like a coyote.

In 1990 we hunted out of Chromo Colorado and there was definitely a wolf pack there. We heard them all week and saw them a few times. My uncle counted 13 jump off of one ledge. The next year my Dad and uncle talked to the game warden and a forest ranger and asked them about the wolves. The game warden stated there are no wolves. My Dad asked then I can shoot one of the 13 coyotes. The game warden looked at the forest ranger and said "I thought there were only 12" and told my Dad "No, you can't shoot those coyotes". We never saw or heard of them again in that area and figured the ranchers took care of them.

No doubt. Seems like snakes might not be the only thing to be looking out for. If there is any GW on here could you chime in on whether or not it would be legal to shoot one of these said wolves.

Ya'll can make fun, but what I saw at ground level 5 feet from me was no dog & no coyote. I got a good long look at them. The wind was in my face and they did not scent me so they stuck around for what seemed forever but could not of been more than about 2 to 3 minutes. They where young and nosey. They where trying to figure out what the crows were after. That's what brought me to that spot as well. Turns out a owl had a rabbit and the crows where harassing it.

This was no black panther that was seen at 500 yards that turned out to be the neighbors house cat.

I saw them up close and personal like. I don't know where they came from but they where there. This was outside of Collinsville @ CR 901 & Boren Rd.

I'm not going to tell anyone they didn't see what they think they saw.

              I think anything is possible.

I remember when a Mexican black bear was killed 70 south of San Angelo and everyone called BS. Well until the guy got arrested and they confiscated the bear.

They are around these parts. I saw one wgen i was a kid outside the house. Our dog was in heat and the beagle was goin crazy. Walked out the back door on the biggest black woof i ever seen. Told the ol man and like most folks here he brushed it off. Til he saw it to. He actually apologized to me for callin me a liar. Heard tale of one seen crossing the highway in the Angelina national forest here a few months back too.

Very believable. We saw a black bear on a hunt in 98 at rancho Los cristales. Not far from the Texas border.

Most folks wouldn't know the difference between a red wolf and a coyote. That is just the cold hard facts. Heck we have guys on hear calling Bobcats Ocelots.
Big coyotes and red wolves are very similar in appearance unlike a Ocelot and bobcat. Especially in a black and white night time pic.

Louisiana has wolves and it borders Texas. Why couldn't they find their way over here?

Yesterday while checking cams ,I spotted a pack of wolves chasing a black panther that was chasing a chupacabre.
