I have a whistle and its one of my most used calls, mallard drake, widgon, pintail, etc. I know only one duck really quacks.....but I still would like to know how to do the feed call. Thanks again for the help!

Everyone wants to make the feed call cause they think it sounds cool. Dont use it and master the other ones. Youll kill plenty!

It's hard for me as well. What worked for me was to get a good call that's easy to blow. I couldn't seem to keep up if the call took a lot of air to get a note. Have 2 diff RNT's i can do it on and I'm sure there are others that are easy to blow like these. But I couldn't do it on any other calls I had.

I killed more ducks without calling at all. Still wish I could call better.

The faulks is a older wooden single reed and the double nasty II is a double reed. I dont know if its the calls or me. I have tried a zink call also and have heard good things about them but still no luck.

For a good inexpensive, versatile call.... go get a Haydel's Variable Tone Red Leg. You can make that sucker sound like a whole herd of ducks or one lonely hen.

I cheat and use the shaker cause I can't do it very well either.

Try saying tuck ah blend it together though. besides saying tugg ah. It might help. That's how my dad taught me.

Make sure you are not whispering tik-a use your voice and vocally say it in the call start slow and increase your speed until you get it to the rate you want it. Also, I know this sounds strange but don't try to blow the call just say the words using very little air.

The second note it still not working right? I just watched a youtube where the guy started with the second note and that helped him? (ught tick ught) I just run out of air faster? I cant see it being this hard when I have used all the other calls for years with good luck? 0

Honest to god you are doing all you can, just start slow and gradually go faster

tick......a tick....a tick...a tick..a tick.a. i used to be slow and i got tongue tied after about 4 ticka's so i just added a quack in my sequence so i would go

ticka ticka ticka quack ticka ticka ticka quack quack ticka ticka ticka quack quack quack and just start that over, just be careful of your spit building up. its so hard to coach someone without listening to them

You need to get you the ol' Alabama Black Snake call and just shake it until the ducks come......

Feed calling is overrated. Most of the feed calling guys do is just to keep some noise and the ducks attention. You can do the same thing with light quacks or clucks. Don't force a feed call if you can't do it correctly. It takes practice to get the air right in the sequence right. Watch Jimbo on RNT TV how he does it and when.
