        lol. Glad to see I'm not the only one that doesn't know what it is! I thought I was gonna post this and everyone was gonna say "I thought you were a hog hunter, that's a ______!"

          There's no gland there, like on a javelina. It's just hair that they raise up when they feel threatened or are exerting their dominance. We skin a bunch of 'em for our clients.

                  Yea I clean a ton of em too and have never seen a gland while skinning or taking the straps out. Never REALLY looked tho either.
