    Who Else??

Just wondering if I'm the oddball around here cause I don't really get wound up about whitetail anymore. Don't know why but it just doesn't do "it" for me anymore. I enjoy taking out kids or first timers but that's about it. I enjoy hunting camp, but I don't get all jacked up over a big buck. You show me a BIG hog and i get all antsy and i've killed a bunch of pigs with bow, rifle, dogs, traps, and shot a couple with a pistol. But i'll still enjoy spot and stalk hog hunting.

    Anybody else??

Have you thought about seeing a doctor or getting some counseling?

I don't get excited about deer hunting in Texas anymore.
I don't enjoy hunting feeders, no satisfaction for me, but darn near a necessity out of defense.
My wife still enjoys hunting deer over feeders in Texas though, so, this time of year is for her.
I still enjoy my Kansas hunts, and actually hunting the deer, although I think time is running out up there due to Texas hunters introducing the feeder hunting techniques they use in Texas.

It's already happening....all my friends are using feeders. I'm not saying it's a bad thing but it's already happening....

Yes, I've seen the pictures on the green screen.
                  Depresses me personally.
I'll not say anything negative about those that are doing so, as that is all they know, ... and they want to kill a big Kansas deer, and this is how they know to do it.

Hunting hogs to me is like swatting flies and mosquitos. Nothing but a nuisance these days. Would much rather have a hunting vest full of fox squirrels and a swamp rabbit or two than one of those destructive things. I can remember years ago when hunting them with dogs was fun. Mainly because it wasn't so many of them and it was something special to hear the dogs running and baying in the hills and bottoms of swamps and piney woods.

On the deer part... maybe that's why I enjoy hunting east Texas and the piney woods. Good deer aren't as prone to hitting feeders like other parts of Texas and you definitely don't have as many moving target opportunities as you do in the hill country and south Tx. So, it is a bit more challenging and also reminds me of hunting in La.

Missing " hunting" WT in Ohio. Never seen a feeder or heard of a lease till moving to Texas..........

But that's the way its done here so I have conformed.

                      Definitely not the same.

Love hunting the hill country. No other place quite like it. However you choose to do it. I grew up hunting east texas and oklahoma.....its ok but not my thing anymore.

I hunt Texas without a feeder. I have one. I just don't use it.
