      Day one

Missed a doe because I did not see the small branch. Coyotes packs are growing. Those little green popper plants will let you know when something is walking by you. I saw five doe and one spike

      Day two

      My buddy shot a doe
I had three coyotes under my stand at first light. They ran off two fat doe
I had the biggest coyote walk by me later in the morning. I will post picture later.

Coyotes were howling all morning. I saw a big eight, but he was sixty yards away.

      Day three

Saw a small 8 chasing a doe and that was it.

Weather was horrible. Spiders and mosquitos tried to get me.

I did not hunt Sunday afternoon. The weather and deer just were not moving.

Big Mineral is a hot spot, but lots of hunters. Harris had more hunters than last segment.

      Good luck

        PS

Rails worked perfect. Thanks for meeting up with me.

I will go back the lottery next year which is okay. Okay is not okay, but I will live.

As of yesterday when I left (~Noon) there were 21 deer harvested.

Friday and Saturday morning I saw nothing, so I relocated my stand for Saturday afternoon. I had a doe come by my stand, but botched the shot.
I did not see anything on Sunday morning, except for a lone coyote. Apparently, the coyote blew out a deer pretty far back behind me. I heard a deer blow, then a minute or two later I saw the coyote.

Oh yeah, Friday morninig, I saw a cottonmouth!

The area I scouted looked really good when I scouted it, lots of sign, lots of deer sightings. Something must have changed that I cannot account for since I last scouted. I guess I need to get some more practice scouting. Also, I think I started scouting too early.

I do not think that I talked to anyone that did not at least see deer.

So its back to the draw method for me.

Thanks guys! The weather up in Kansas was 76 degrees over the weekend with winds outta the south. I was wondering how things worked out there. Thanks for the update though....hopefully come Seg C all factors will fall in line. 21 deer ain't that bad though!

Heard tale of a 167" 10 point taken, and another in the 140's.

That sounds like a nice deer.

70 hunters trompsing thru the woods for 4 hours hanging stands at their 3rd most favorite spot.
69 hunters plus yourself, all entering the same woods the next day at the same time.

I'd imagine this evening or tomorrow afternoon the deer will all be back on the wheat fields... wait, there are no deer up there.

At least there is still a chance for Oscar to come thru with a Kansas giant and a Hag monster.

I did not get to hunt the spot I was planning but had a decent hunt. The hunt seemed doomed before it ever started.

Day 1 I let a pretty nice 8 point walk. Was the first hour of first day so decision was made I knew I would end up regretting Had a doe being chased by a better buck come within 40 a few minutes after the other buck was gone. Later a spike came in. At 4:55 I had a buck come in but couldnt tell how big he was. Was a good day

Day 2 I saw a 6 pt and 2 doe. No shot available on the doe.

Day 3 Sicker than a dog and didnt hunt

                            ok WCB,

Now your making me think of Jim Cary in Dumb & Dumber...

Lloyd: What are the chances of a guy like you and a girl like me... ending up together?
Mary: Well, that's pretty difficult to say.
Lloyd: Hit me with it! I've come a long way to see you, Mary. The least you can do is level with me. What are my chances?
                            Mary: Not good.
Lloyd: You mean, not good like one out of a hundred?
Mary: I'd say more like one out of a million.
                            [pause]
Lloyd: So you're telling me there's a chance.

I'd have to say your odds are way better than mine this year, I didn't draw.

                            Good Luck,
                            Scott

Roger that, but I was the only person in the area I hunted (East part of Meyers). There were a few other guys who hunted the other end of Meyers, but none anywhere near close to me. Based upon what I saw (nada), it may explain why nobody else was there!
