Neck Surgery...

My C5/C6 fusion was to correct a severely herniated disk that was herniating to the inside (towards my chest) and pushing on nerves.
They fused it using two titanium cylinders and a cage.

the funkiest part was the surgery was done through the front of my neck (throat). .

that's because you had an ACF done ..... anterior cervical discectomy with fusion

FYI - 100% of the patients/clients I deal with are on Workers Comp ..... studies show that WC patients take longer to heal than the normal patient who is not dependent on the system

yup thats what it was, except no bone graft.. i have two metal cylinders held in place with a cage fusion

I'll be watching this. I have a herniated disc at the same location, causing pain through the shoulder, bicep down to my forearm. MRI shows nothing wrong with the shoulder. I tried the injections about a three weeks ago, and they helped some. The Dr. said it could take up to three times to stop it all. Im really getting bummed out over this because I've been dealing with a degenerated disc at L5/S1. Insurance wouldnt pay for disc replacement at that level and didn't want to do fusion there yet. Getting old sucks, and I'm only 48, but very active
