Will the RUT be late?

"The Rut" is such a broad description. When y'all say "it" happens at the same time every year I think that is false if you mean to the day. Maybe within the same week or two... Then explain me shooting a buck chasing openig weekend of gun season one year and then shooting another buck chasing thanksgiving weekend the next year?
Then there's the whole pre-rut and post-rut VS young bucks and old bucks discussion...

The actual breeding is what people are talking about happening at the same time every year.

Chasing is a whole different thing.

I think to most The Rut is the period of time when most bucks are chasing does/bird dogging.

With does in bad shape they might not come into season this year.....we have never had a drought like this before......

^^^^This. All does may not cycle this year due to health conditions which will making breeding more competitive. In '96 we only had 65% of our cattle breed back. Would think it would affect the deer also.
