    Will the RUT be late?

With the drought conditions and the fact that some of the deer are still in velvet. Will the rut be late this year?

Last year at our lease the lockdown peak seemed to be Nov.11th ( pretty much the same time for the past 3 years ) The moon will be full on Nov 10th this year. I wonder what this all adds up to?

Nope. It will be right on time just like it has been for the last 100 years with every range condition available. If they were in "lockdown" on the 11th, better be out there from the first to the 10th while they are still running around like crazy!

Bosque County bucks are rubbing, working scraps and already have dark hocks. Rut will continue at it's usual scheduled time.

True but It's been a long time since we've had a drought like this and this is the first time I've ever seen deer in velvet this late.

they are starting to rut hard in the beaumont area already, i saw a big buck saturday checking does and the younger buck was chasin them, also heard from the manager of iron oaks golf course that he had personally seen a giant 9pt and a big 10pt chasing does last thursday morning on the greens

"The Rut" is such a broad description. When y'all say "it" happens at the same time every year I think that is false if you mean to the day. Maybe within the same week or two... Then explain me shooting a buck chasing openig weekend of gun season one year and then shooting another buck chasing thanksgiving weekend the next year?
Then there's the whole pre-rut and post-rut VS young bucks and old bucks discussion...

true that doe will come back in ever 28 day if they dont get stuck the first cycle so the rut can happen for a while
