To add.....check your CPU fan and ensure it's actually spinning at speed. CPU fans typically run around 5000 rpm.....dust bunnies will suck up and into your heatsink area below the cpu fan degrading CPU cooling when your VIDEO starts it's compile. During compile....the CPU will peg 100% and in turn the heat ramps up the CPU's temp to a point, it crashes due to overheating. Most semi-modern motherboards have a top end CPU heat limit and by design, the Motherboard shuts down everything once that threshold is exceeded.

The Video card has a GPU (Graphics Processor Unit) which is essentially a small CPU that renders video. As mentioned....the video card may be overheating during compile as well?

Also don't discount your onboard power supply. If the power supply gets dustd up....same principle but typically power supplies simply burn up when they overheat unless it has some "self protecting logic" that regulates temp with a shut-off at *** degrees C or F

Since the computer previously compiled video without issue....age, dust and lacking airflow may be causing your heat related issue?

All of this is great stuff. I am 99% sure it's heat related. This computer is less than a year old, but I'm sure it needs a little dust removal. Gunna try the air compressor maƱana and see what comes outta there.

Thanks again for all the technical support!!!

      TBH ROCKS!!!!

        Shane,

Make sure your outlet pressure is set to 120psi.

Oh, and make sure you video the results...

        j/k

make sure you use relatively low pressure. I'd guess around 30psi.

a dryer wouldn't be a bad idea on that there compressor.

no reason to be shooting liquified ranch air onto the motherboard.....

Most of the time, you'll get a message saying "Fan Error' during intialization of the laptop if it was the fan.

Just get some canned air. That's what it is made for.
