I graduated 5 years ago and have worked in the private sector for four of those years. I have been to Alaska ( wolf country) twice hunting since then and Canada ( also wolf country) about once a year.

Some of the response would suggest than we should also eradicate all bears, mountain lions, cougars, coyotes, pigs... basically any animal that could harm humans, game animals we like to hunt or live stock. If that's your stance, I for one would strongly disagree with your stance. All of these animals have a place in the wild. Like everything else in life moderation is key.

For someone who seemingly knows a 'lot' on the subject you've contributed very little to this thread. Could you post something relevant and factual in nature? While i take interest in both sides (admittedly i know little to nothing about this), your cheap remarks aren't advancing your position.

I would tend to listen to the Environmental Scientist, who is giving facts not cheap remarks. Same boat as you, I don't know anything about wolves.

What is so different about a wolf than a yote other than the size? We hate all yotes and try to kill everyone is my point so why introduce an animal that will undermine everything sportsmen have spent billions of dollars on restoring into the eco system only to see it wiped out by a wolf... Friggin Idiots IMO

Besides man, the wolf kills for the pleasure of killing. They are getting out of control along the northern border. Deer and elk #'s are way down. YOu can hunt them in Idaho now. As well as Canada. Yotes aren't near as bold as a wolf is.
They are some awesome animals...........at a distance. But their #'s need to be controlled, for anyone that has a guiding business or a farm/ranch up north.

Many in the wildlife conservation field consider "A Sand County Almanac" by Aldo Leopold to be one of the seminal works on the topic. Did you read it? If so you must have disagreed with some pretty major arguments Leopold had. He did, by the way shoot a wolf. His description of that encounter is worthy of note.

One would have to remember when that was written.Also to be considered, is the human population of the landscape is so much different then when he wrote that. Good info and logic when the wolf #'s were close to nonexistant in this country. Not so in this day and age. It is a whole different world.

I strongly believe it was a huge screw up to introduce the wolf, but now that they are here and expanding thier range at alarming rates the states have to be allowed to manage them.

Save the wolves and kill PETA!!! Wolves have to adapt to natural prey again and they will leave livestock alone.

Reintroducing wolves is funded by the by the libs and peta groups in effort to kill the animals I love to hunt! That way one day the animals I love to hunt will be in such low numbers they can ban hunting them because their near extinction. It's all a ploy to outlaw the thing we all love to do! HUNT. They are willing to go to these extremes no matter the consequences. Start to dig into who's funding and pushing wolf reintroduction.

Don't let them pull the wool over your eyes. If they get their way there will be no wool to pull over your eyes or enough animals to hunt.
