    How do you fight off chiggers but still stay (as much as possible) scent free?

        pants inside of socks then duck tape your socks to your pants.

                  With this drought and heat, we haven't had any trouble with chiggers at all. And we typically do, so I assume the conditions weren't right for them this year.

                        Pants into socks doesnt alwys help, but when you get them, put clear fingernail polish on top of the bites and that will kill them.

                              Well, I know that chiggers take approximately 8 hours to "walk" from where they get on your shoes to where your waist is. Also, chiggers have to get somewhere, where it is soft flesh such as ankles or waist or armpit (e-gads) to burrow into your skin. So, that being said, if you brush off your legs good after your morning hunt from waist down, you should be good. If you hunt in shorts, your own your own.
