Pastel Coat is what he called it!

Good info. I've been wanting to do this too. I have a neighbor that did his and then came back and hand painted the mortar joints with a darker shade. Took him forever but it sure looks nice.

          Masonary Coating @

A thick pigmented coating which forms a beautifying protective shield on above ground masonry surfaces both inside and outside. Ideal for sheet rock, plaster, concrete, haydite and cinder blocks, brick, stucco and stone surfaces. Superior to paint because it penetrated the pores to become part of the masonry. Helps stop discoloration due to a built-in mildewcide. It is completely water repellent, insulates against both heat and cold and adds years to the life and beauty of masonry surfaces. Guaranteed in writing for five full years

Can't help you with the paint recommendations but just tell her that it sticks to brick better when temps remain above 70 degrees. It's BS but should give you a few more months before you have to paint. You may be able to push this off until just after spring turkey if you are convincing enough...

I like it, BigL, but i've put her off long enough. The deer I wanna kill is prolly not gonna be visible until November anyhow, so I'm all in.

Make sure you use a 1" brush. Just kidding, thinking about doing mine also. Keep putting it off, it may happen this spring. Still thinking about what color, don't want to do it twice or more.

Here's a couple test colors. Light beiges on the left and darker beige on the right. Talked Kathy into trying a grey and I like it the best so far.

I didn't paint my brick but did put a morter/stucco mixture on mine but didn't put the color on it yet. Can still see the shape of the brick but not the color

I like the light beige best.

I have painted a few schools with a waterproofing coating, some of which have been done for better than 15. You can get it in any color. The cost is around 30 bucks a gal.. 1gal covers appx 100sqft.

I like that grey. That with black trim would be nice.
