A question for all you golf cart users

Gas or Electric? pros and cons.....and why did you pick the one you have? Does one have a advantage over the other? I see alot of electric carts but havent seen many posts about gas....why?

Gas. More electric because they are cheaper and not needed unless courses have a lot of hills.

I have a gas cart. I found it on craigslist for a great deal. I like the cart, but I would rather have a battery cart due to the noise. If you have a lease with electricity available I would go with elec. Just my .02.

Electric cart is quiet. I sneak up on deer and hogs within 30 yards all the time. We live on 200 acres with about 20 ft elevation change from one side to the other. We also have a John Deere Gator but it is too loud & exhaust smell gets on your hunting clothes. Love getting in the electric cart and just pressing on the pedal to silently head out. Mine is an old 36 volt cart.

I did lots of reading on a cart forum web site to get "educated". I went with electric to get away from the noise and gas smell, the cart I bought ,after shopping for some time, already had a bunch of upgrades to the wiring and motor(this gives you more speed and torque) and I added a lift and tires. A golf cart, gas or electric, is going to be limited on what it can do, just remember that and use it within its limits and they do fine. I like it so far!

We have an electric on a 6 inch lift and a motor upgrade.... Goes about 30 on flat ground and 1 person.... Hills do not really bother it unless you have it loaded down and on a weak charge....

Love my electric cart! No issues what so ever. If you have a gas cart you might as well have a 4 wheeler or side by side

I've got 4 electrics (2 old 36V and 2 new 48V) at our place and love them. We have good roads and we use them for everything. I rarely move my truck when I get to the ranchito until it's time to go home. The 48V will go almost 30mph and have a huge range...manufacturer claims 50 miles and I ,know at the ranchito we can go several days between charges. Only downside to golf carts is a somewhat rough ride compared to a ranger and they are kind of easy to stick in soft mud with stock wheels/tires.

As someone else said, if I wanted to go go gas I'd just step up a bit to a Ranger.

A friend has electic. Really, really quiet. All you hear is tires on rock. Down side is that it can not handle rough dozer paths or mud.

Went and took a look at these. Runs great and can turn a lot easier than the 4x4 models like the BBB. Not a bad price after all the stuff he adds on the.

No way would I go electric over gas, but that's just me. As far as noise, the tires make more noise than the engine on mine. WAY quiter than my 4wheeler.

Ive got a 36volt ezgo with a lift and no upgrades to motor or controller. It does great going to and from the stand's and such but hill's slow it down. It's super quiet and you can drive pretty close before spooking the deer. I plan to upgrade the system for a little more speed and mostly torque. If you get an electric go with a 48volt system.

If your on small acreage(1500 acres or less) go with electric. Much quieter, which will help with preasuring deer. If your on a large acreage lease go with gas cart. It's still quieter than a side by side and you can add a locker to the rear end to make it easier to get around in wet conditions.
