Had them on a place in Llano, got a shot at one but missed. Not going to make excuses but it was just enough light to make him out and I shot right over his back. Sure wish I could get a do over on that one
I have always heard they were not fit to eat but I have never tried any so Saggy could be right.
What part of it did you eat and how was it cooked Saggy?

We had ours processed like our deer....the tenderized backstraps were good...the first roast was interesting....then my wife made a roast in the pressure cooker...it was awesome. The ground made great burgers and the b-fast sausage was really good.
I wish, from my stand for the past 10+ years i have only seen whitetail
i have heard turky and had one pic of a pig last year 100 yards from my stand but they have not come to the feeder!
Same here. We have a herd that moves through every month or so. For the past 3 years. Nobody has ever been in a blind when they roam through. We can go weeks without any on cams, and then they show up for a couple days. Got a small herd of mouflon, too.
You must have tried a young one or been super hungry. The smell of it cooking and before it was cooked also, was enough to turn my stomach. And tough...like leather...
I may be huntin a new place in west texas that some are supposed to be on. Do they require a tag or permit or is it like hogs and huntem year round. Thanks for the info and the cool pics . Chris
