    Fletching Question

I bought a dozen arrows from my local bowshop last year. The 2" fletching starts about 1/2" below the nock and I sighted my new Z7 in with these arrows when I bought it last year. A couple of months ago, I bought another dozen of the exact same length, spine, fletching, etc. arrows. The only difference is that the fletching starts about 1" below the nock. For the sake of my explaination the fletching that starts 1/2" below the nock is Fletching A and the fletching that starts 1" below the nock is Fletching B.

When shooting, there is no discernable difference from 10yds. At 20 yds there is some flyers in the Fletching B group. At 30yds Fletching B is grouped about 3-4" high. I didn't trust it enough to shoot any farther out, to keep from missing the target altogher.

    1. Has anyone ever run into this before?
    2. Where should my fletching start in relation to the start of the nock?

    Thanks for you input.

Is the offset, or helical the same on both A and B?

If it's the same, then fletching position is the culprit, (I guess it could slightly change spine, but I think this is a stretch)
I don't like 'seems to be'

I suspect 'A' to have more offset. Most people can barely see a 1 or 2 degree offset. Group 'B' is likely to have no offset at all and fletched straight.

It is EXACTLY the same. Of this, I am 100% sure and would stake my life on it.

It's either EXACTLY the same, or it's different.

OK, you said they were the same specs, but are they the same brand?

With the difference in placement, could be coming off different or anchoring different. I use my fletching touching my chin as an additional reference point.

FYI - my Bitz is set up to fletch .830" below the nock

I do believe he said exact same everything except vane placement.

I would not think the placement within a 1/2" would make any difference, but then I probably could not tell with my shooting either
