I bought a dozen arrows from my local bowshop last year. The 2" fletching starts about 1/2" below the nock and I sighted my new Z7 in with these arrows when I bought it last year. A couple of months ago, I bought another dozen of the exact same length, spine, fletching, etc. arrows. The only difference is that the fletching starts about 1" below the nock. For the sake of my explaination the fletching that starts 1/2" below the nock is Fletching A and the fletching that starts 1" below the nock is Fletching B.
When shooting, there is no discernable difference from 10yds. At 20 yds there is some flyers in the Fletching B group. At 30yds Fletching B is grouped about 3-4" high. I didn't trust it enough to shoot any farther out, to keep from missing the target altogher.
1. Has anyone ever run into this before?
2. Where should my fletching start in relation to the start of the nock?
Thanks for you input.
