As I was reading through this tread again I got to thinking. Every evening when we give thanks for our many blessings, we always ask for protection for our men and women protecting our freedom around the world. I wonder if anyone prayed for us back when being in the military wasn't respected like it is today? I know our mom's prayed for us and I bet others did too. I cannot remember a single instance of a stranger coming up to me and thanking me for my service when I was on active duty. Back in the late 70s and early 80s, there were places we were advised to NOT wear our uniforms because the anti-military sentiment could lead to trouble. Past and present, we served with honor, courage, and sacrifice to protect our country's freedom. I am proud to share the bond of patriotic service wth you.

It was a different time with a different attitude. I'm glad to see today's troops being given the support they so desperately need. For us............I guess it was just our cross to bear.
Thanks to all, past and present. Hooah!Last edited by Geezy Rider; 09-11-2011, 09:07 AM.
