I got a Remington feeder from Academy for like $99. It is doing good so far. The legs are alittle weak. I was in the same boat, first time using a feeder, and didn't have alot of money to get into hunting this year.

I 'inherited' the feeder at my lease. If I were buying new, I'd definitely spend a little more to get a winch up feeder to make filling easier. I also like the idea of the spinner plates that open up when spinning, keeping the coons out. If starting from scratch, that spinner doesn't cost any more than a regular one with a cage, etc.
