I did the same thing after hunting with a group for years. I twisted off and got a place with just me on it where I could do as I please. You'll enjoy it.
To me "playig in the dirt" doing all the scouting, setup, and maintenance is every bit as enjoyable as the actual hunting - well maybe a close second but still a lot of fun. Looks like you already know that. You might want to put out a game camera or two to see what starts coming in. If you are OK with hogs and they come in - you are good to go. If you are dead set on deer but hogs start bothering your spot, you might need to put a fence around it to keep them out but still let the deer jump in. Either way good luck this season!
Yall are a huge help... The feeder is about 25 yards from the stand, but im most likely going to put up a pop up somewhere closer, just not sure where yet!!! and the wind situation i didnt think of so i might have to make a few changes and what not!!
Thanks yall are the best!!
If you're bow hunting that rifle rest will get in your way. Also, consider where the morning and afternoon sun will hit you. May have to create some extra shade cover accordingly. Good luck! And be sure that someone knows where you'll be hunting in case you get in a bind.
Good luck it looks great...... you got the hardest part done. Now let the animals tell you where to set up. I think the worst mistake I see people make is go in and set up a stand imediately on a feeder just put up. Most deer will come in the same way every time or from the same direction. They feel safe. Set up depending on this and it may make the difference in Big Daddy getting to ride in the bed of the truck.
Keep us posted. Do it yourself is always more rewarding.

Can you move the feeder closer and upwind? Might be easier and less disruptive then to put up a popup. Closer just allows for more opportunity at a slam dunk shot.
