All on my own this season!

So i wanted to try it all on my own this season... I hunt with my boyfriend on a bunch of land his parents have in Olney Tx and i never have to set up any of the feeders or stands, fill up the feeders and all that other fun stuff.. i pretty much had it made!!! But i wanted to try something this year and do it all on my own, pick out my own spot on my land, put up my own stand and feeders!! Not sure how this is going to work, but its worth a try!!
Im so proud, i figured i had to share it with yall!! if yall have any points let me know!!

Oh and i will still hunt at my boyfriends parents, but this is only a few minute drive up the road compared to a 4.5 hour drive!!

Just don't forget the wind direction. And set up accordingly. The wind can be a deal breaker!!!

good luck this season. Looks like you are off to a good start. I'm still trying to find a place around B/CS myself to hunt.

The spot looks pretty good from this angle. I would maybe move that feeder where the tractor is so the deer feel a little safer, but I can only tell so much from the photo and it might be too close. A great satisfaction in doing your own setup. I love filling feeders and building pens as much as I love to hunt. Becomes a total package. Good luck to you and hope you shoot a trophy!

Congrats! Putting up stands, feeders, cameras, food plots, maintaining/filling it all, and scouting are rewarding and fun. For me, hunting is about all these things coming together for a great kill. Much more satisfying than hopping in a stand and shooting.

^^^ is the most important thing. Try to setup 2 stands, one for south wind (early season) and for North wind late season. I like to have a ground blind setup for North wind in late season because of the elements. Good Luck!

Watch for the wind, make sure you have decent cover.

But also watch other areas on the land too, watch for movement.
Don't invest too much in your first spot, if you see more activity in other places make it easier to be able to set up in a new location. Always set up camera's on trails other than your set up if you are able to.
But it looks good, and will be very rewarding if you are successful!
