    Redman Chew alternatives??

So I finally put down the Cope can after 14 years but went right to the Redman chew and the wife says maybe it's time I put it down as well plus I don't want to regret it in the long run if yall know what I mean? So I tried and holy moly it's harder than anything I have ever tried to quit. Any of yall know any alternatives to this stuff? I saw some stuff called bac-off but just don't know about it. Wanted to see if anyone knew of alternatives that you tried that helped?

jc, Richard Mccarty here, I know your dad well.
I chewed Red Man for 16 years, and when I realized I was chewing 2 pouches a day, I quit, but not tobacco altogether. Started dipping Copenhagen cuz I didn't like it as well and only dip a can every 2-3 days. Tried to quit but not tough enough.
Red Man is extremely hard on teeth due to the molasses, so.... if you are not tough enough (like me), you're better off with Copenhagen, and at least rationing until you no longer want some.
You have to be tough, (tougher than I).

I chewed Redman GB for years only when I hunted and fished. It was something I picked up from my grandfather. I thought it wasn't too bad a habit until my wife reminded me I hunted and fished all the time...

One day I just decided to quit it...and cold turkey at that. I don't miss it now unless I run across the smell of a freshly started 2 cycle outboard....

It was tough for a few weeks but it can be done. Good luck...

I started chewing years ago to quit snuff. Then quit chewing after 27 years of doing one or the other. Yes its tough. Had quit many times but it never lasted. Sorry I don't have a remedy for you sunflower seeds help but I just got stubborn about it and said no more. Still have the last pouch I bought unopened in the truck as a reminder. You just have to make up your mind and stick to it. Thats the hardest part.

Small world huh? It's hard but I can do it. My Dad dipped skoal for a very long time and finally gave it up! So I just gotta be strong cause I know if I go back to Cope then it'll be twice as hard to quit.

It sounds to me like it just has to be solid will power and really have to want to quit tried sunflowers seeds for a while and they worked but it rubbed my mouth raw to the point I was almost bleeding! Thank you for the advice and encouragement!

Nicotine gum does not taste good but it will knock the edge off in the early phases of withdrawal

I know this sounds kind of odd but I used to mix chew with big league chew bubble gum. We did it in high school during baseball season. That way we could chew during games and everyone thought we had bubblegum. Then as time went on I could only chew with big league chew mixed in. Then after a few years I just started slowly adding more bubblegum until I completely got ride of the chew. It worked for me.

When I quit dipping Copenhagen on Jan. 2, 2006 it was very difficult. I did find an alternative, and you probably have it in yoru kitchen right now.
I took a Tea Pouch (un-used of course) tore it open, and put a pinch right where I would have put Cope. It is bitter, but it really helped out wiht just feeling it where the Cope used to be. That lasted about 3 weeks, and I weaned myself off of that. Beeb dip free ever since..

There are are others on here who have done. Good luck on being another one. I never smoked, chewed or dipped so I sure can't tell you how. I'll send up a willpower prayer for you. Good luck.
