Is purchasing the "Furminator dog brush" worth it?

My wife bought one for her little lap dog. Very 'not worth it' in her opinion. I can't imagine how the dog isn't bald from all of the hair he keeps shedding all over the house, in spite of my wife's daily 'furminating' of him.

They are expensive but well worth the cost, do get the bigger one though. Even with the large size it still takes a bit of time to brush the coat on our golden retriever.

We got them at Petco a couple of years back after talking with one of the groomers about them. She even let my wife go back in the grooming area and try one before we bought it. Ours was about $60, I wish I had shopped around but at the time we were desperate, it was full blown summer, my dog was miserable and shedding like crazy.

              LOL!

I got a knockoff from Tractor Supply and it works very well.

Depends on the dog. I bought one for my Lacy, but it doesn't work at all for him. It works great on my mom's boxer and my cats. I guess Lacy's don't have an undercoat like most dogs? Maybe the hairs are too thick?

Works great, just used mine on the ridgeback. Its cutting his shedding way down. bought it on ebay for $35, it's the real one not the knock off... though I don't know if there is a difference.

I didn't think ridgebacks shed that much to begin with.

I bought the original when it first came out and payed a small fortune for it, and it was worth every penny.
