anyone gotten on a least and not known any of the other hunters?

I had the same problem that you are having. Everyone wants to get on a lease until its time to put up the money( im not talking about people that are unable to pay..just unwilling) and then every decides they cant do it this year. Im a very shy person, so it was hard to work up the guts to do it, but i responded to a post in the tbh classifieds and it has turned out very well. This is my third year on the lease.

I have a number of times and it's always led to lifelong friendships and memories.

The only year i hated it was when the ranch manager was a pain the in the butt!

I subsequently fired myself as the RM and am excited about the place i'm on!

wont know what kinda guys your hunting with until you join up,youll probaly work out just fine,Ive had the same trouble in the past with some of my buddies,the best thing to do is go on and get on the lease you pick and if they want to come along later,fine,if not,fine

I joined a group with one other buddy, but he ended up not hunting much so it was like i joined by myself. This will be my third year on the lease (my buddy has since left) and the group of guys is great! I'd say go ahead and give it a try.

I did it and it was one of the best moves of my hunting life. I met some life long friends there as well as have a great time hunting the place.....some have moved on but we still keep in contact.

Yep, have only met a couple of the guys on mine in the last two years. We have our own sections and our paths rarely cross.

A college buddy and i got on a west tx lease one year with 3 other guys. We didn't like it to much because the other 3 members didn't seem to want to work with us on the management on the place and shot anything that walked and called it a cull. That was the last lease I have ever been on other than a company lease or hunting club my dad and I are on now. I won't get on another lease unless it's made up of a bunch of my buddies or family memebers in the future.

I did once and it only lasted part of the year and I ahven't been on another lease since (financial reasons). I was young and naive and should have known it was to good to be true. That doesn't mean I won't do it again butI will just be more cautious of the situation I am walking into.

Several years ago, a friend and I got on a lease with people we didn't know. Worst situation I have ever experienced. Talk about a bunch of D-bags! No one respected our set ups, they let their kids run all over the place with their ATVs through the entire season, starting with Dove season. They let their dogs run all over they place during the entire season. We could hear their yapping over their blaring radios, and revving trucks and ATVs every morning we sat in stands. We had decent numbers of deer and a lot of turkeys on game cameras before the season opened, and didn't see a single animal during the season. Needless to say, we pulled our stuff and left. I reckon it can be a roll of the dice. Luckily that is the only bad lease experience I have had in my limited hunting experience.

I am in the same place you are except I am looking for 1 guy to join are group, its a chance both parties have to take, I would go in think that everyone is a good guy and hope after all is said and done that no one is disappointed. I have the lease posted in the classified in Collingsworth County.

Well I pulled the trigger on a place today. Will b a new experience for me and hope to have the same great experience as most of you. North west Kimble co will b my new home away from home!
