personally, I haven't seen many Nyala "jumping" as they are very spooky and always on alert

Whatever you do, don't put it on a "log" ... it's not a bird!

I'm not being a smart arse in asking this, but why are these (and alot of other full body mounts) mounted where the hind end is higher than the front? They always seem to be walking down a hill. Isn't Africa pretty flat.

Seriously...is this some sort of artistic composition rule or something?

I like the first two mounts. Beautiful animal that deserves an equally beautiful mount!

No Africa is not flat. In fact the Nyala I shot was coming down a slight embankment so his hind end was higher than his front shoulders, so a mount like that would be realistic for me. We had to go over the Waterburg Mountains to get to the Limpopo region from J'oberg. Definitley not flat.

The Nyala would be numero uno on my Africa list, with warthog at #2.....does that make me wierd???

I think the first post is one of the best I've seen. The Oxpecker and tail turned really add alot to the mount. The base looks real and is not distracting.

I'll be following this one as well. I've been really going back and forth about doing a shoulder versus full body.

I like the one you posted Humper as well as the bottom one in the second set Blake posted. It really shows off all of the colors, spots, lines, stripes, etc.
