Any axis over 40" is awesome! Saw a 41" at a TGR awards conference about 10 years ago and he was huge and free range if I remember correctly.

Ricky is the guide on the right. He was a guide at the YO, but left the YO and is now at Record Buck. Depending on when these were taken, it would either be YO or Record Buck.

Have two out there right now that are about 38"ish, but they both have about 17" brows. Can't wait for them to get rid of their velvet.

              I'm jealous!

I have seen some very large Axis Deer in Uvalde. I have two mounted that I thought were big when I shot them. One is 32" and the other is 33". It takes a special animal to approach the 40" mark. I am very skeptical of a 50" Axis.

                  33"

I have been lucky to kill a few good axis bucks.....but to give yall and idea how big an axis would have to be to be 50 inches......just take off 4 inches from my 389in Utah elk in my avatar! That would be super freaking crazy! Surprised some breeders have not figured out how to get them that big yet....lol

And there still hasn't been a picture (dead or alive) posted of this mythical 50" axis!
