    Stole my thunder - everyone wants to pronounce that one like the anthropologist.

    Up here in Colorado (which was once part of the Republic of Texas you know) - they try to anglocize all the spanish names - Buena Vista is Byu-NA Vis-ta, Salida is Sa-lee-da, Pueblo is Pyu-ee-blow

    I always wonder how Amarillo escaped the spanish pronunciation

            Need Blake to jump in with some Louisiana towns, they kill me!

            Cancerno = Karen-Crow
            Delcombre = Dell-kum

            (pretty sure I misspelled both of those, but it doesnt matter....you'd never get the correct pronunciation out of the correct spelling anyway. )

                  Bra' you'd have to write a hole book if you got that started!... I mean those last names, much less the towns, fish, etc. would go on for ever...

                  I wouldn't even attempt to spell the name of that big ol' swamp East of Lafayette... you know the chaf-a-lie-a basin where all that water from the floodin' miss-e-sip is bein' diverted thru...

                          That's right. Kinda like Loraine is pronounced LO-rain... not Luh-rain.... learned that the hard way.

                              Honestly never thought about how I say most of them. Is anyone else repeating these over and over trying to figure out how you really say them?
