    Polaris Ranger Question

I am looking to by Polaris ranger soon and was was told that they are very loud compared to other makes. Infact, I was told that they are twice as loud as a jeep. For those of you that have one or have been on a Ranger how do they compare?

We have one, I don't think its that loud, maybe I'm just used to it. If you feel its too loud, run a hose (water heater) from the exhaust to the ground.

Depends on how fast your going!! I have the 07 700 xp and it is not loud at all when your cruising between idle and 30. When you hauling butt it is quite a bit louder. I wouldn't have any other machine.

I have a 08 700 XP and unless you are running 50mph or trying to do 20 in low range it is not that loud. I have a friend of mine that bought the Rhino and it was very loud to me.

I have the same as Stolle, and mine doesn't seem loud either. May help that it's fuel injected.

Dad has a Mule, and that thing is crazy loud!!

Mine is fuel injection but I have a friend of mine that has a 500 that is not fuel injection and I dont think it is loud either. The Ranger will go alot of places that the Mules I tried would not though.

when I'm crawlin up a hill the sound the tranny makes me think of my old '48jeep.
I wish they would have designed the parking brake different. I've already replaced mine twice in a year.

My 500 ranger isn't very loud in high gear. Iv'e actually got within 30 or so yards of deer before they were spooked. With that said, it's loud if you really punch it, or if you have it in low gear.

FYI, if you think the Ranger is loud, go look at Yamaha. My Yamer 4-wheeler has never given me a problem, but that thing is the loudest 4 wheeler I've ever owned.

The Tranny is very loud on them. And they are great when they are new but after a couple of years they start to fall apart. I would go with the rhino. Much better product.

At how many years before they start falling apart?

I'm going on my 7th season with mine and it's still the most dependable off road vehicle I've ever owned.

Maybe I'd better trade in before I have problems.
