When this does not work, repeat steps above but replace with a linksys wireless router. and all your problems will go away.

I had a d-link and never could get it to stay connected either. replaced with linksys and haven't had the first issues.

Not a fan of belkin or d-link or netgear.

Have had the linksys and it failed, Belkin now is failing.

Did this: "might try going into network connections, right click the connection in question, select properties, click the configure button, click power management tab, see if you have 'allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' selected, if so, unselect it."

And its been longer between losing connection, but still losing connection. Seems I had two problems!

Im not buying another router just to have it be crappy windstream service.

I dont believe its interference from anything causing it, Its just radom.

I do need to dig into channels, encryption, and preferences. In time. If I change everything all at once no telling what would solve the problem or even make it worse. So I will get back to yall on what happens next with changing channels.

Ok Changed Encryption and tried to updated drivers on my laptop's pci card but none could be found that were better than what I had.

So I guess we will see if encryption switch helps.

Well after looking at some other post it looks like it was a website error and not my computer.

Seems to happen a lot round here.

i am fairly certain it is going to be some interference problems with his wireless in the house. going to run him through some test to be sure and hopefully get it fixed whenever he gets the time to do it
