yes sir....that was in 2007 ......my pens these days are 35 X 50 YARDS plus. They'll still hang their head over the fence and smell...occasionally but there have been no trespassers in a few years...

Lmao! 35x50 YARDS!!! That's what I'm talking about! Mine are like 25x25 +\- and do the trick but bigger never hurt!

[quote=Kdog;3595540]If I were you I would get 34" tall field fencing from tractor supply. Put a T-post every 10' and get the fence nice and tight. Go with 2 strands of barb wire across the top for the cows.QUOTE]

I will probably go this route but with the taller 39" fencing and one strand of barb wire.

If you are trying to make it cheap, I dont understand why you are feeding protein. You will spend way more on protein than fencing if you feed the right amount. Never pays to be cheap.

It's not about being cheap. I was just asking if anybody had tried anything like I am thinking would work. I still think it will work for the most part but I really don't care to dig 6-8 post holes and cement pipe in the ground to keep the wire tight.

I'm not cheap but I am lazy

What we have done is set all the posts then taken a torch to them and bent the top 18-24" of the post out at a 45, run the panels on the bottom, then 1 strand of wire at the top. with the posts bending outward at a 45 it keeps cows/horses from necking over the fence and the deer have no problem jumping in and out of them.
