A Question For TBHers in Iraq!!!

Some of y'all here feel free to chime in too.

Wanting to get details on what it takes to ship stuff over to y'all.

How long does it take to reach you?

What types of things do you need?

I am wanting to send some beef/deer jerky over to some of y'all. Would it be better to put together a large care package? Maybe with contributions from other TBHers? Any and all info you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

I am really wanting to do something for you guys/gals over there. Y'all deserve it for sure!!!!

Skinny, I went out and shot a doe just for Jerky to send to Iraq this fall. It took about 10 days I think for them to get it. I have a friend that is there, (I think he might even be a TBH'er) and sent it to him and his group.Sent some bear jerky I made also with it and a bunch of hunting mags (recent) as well.
      Hope that helps.

It takes anywhere from a week to three weeks to get stuff over here. My wife has sent me a box and I got it in 7 days, my mom sent one took 18 days. So it just depends.

I can't speak for everyone, but I really don't care what comes in a package. Jerky is good. I also like hunting mags. Really any kind of snacks and stuff is good. Just think of stuff you would like if you were away from home.

It's a great idea to sent a package to some one. Maybe you could have all the TBHers put their name in, and pick one lucky one to receive a TBH package. Maybe there could be a TBH shirt donated.

Not sure about Iraq, but I've got a nephew in Afghanistan, and we sent him a couple of boxes about a month ago. I think it took about 3 weeks for him to get them. We sent some deer jerky sticks, homemade pecan brittle, and lots of candy and snack foods, Clif bars, baby wipes, juice boxes, boxes of the single serve kool-aid packets that you mix with a bottle of water, toothpaste, toothbrushes, floss, etc. We use the priority mail flat-rate boxes.

I think they are happy to get just about anything from "home".

Also included the new Sport Illustrated Swimsuit edition.

Skinny, im over here now. It normaly takes about 7-10days for things to get here, the shortes was 4 days from amazon. Anyhow at the post office they have flat rate apo boxes, i think like 10 dollars, u can put as much as u can fit in it, there is no weight limit. I know all of my guys love jerkey, hard candy, mexican chili suckers, wet wipes, q tips, of course hunting magazines(ok only me on that one), and they enjoy drink mix, sunflower seeds, almonds, basicaly any small snack that we can throw in a backpack and take on mission with us. Hygene items are big over here as well. Hope this helps you brother.

i sent my nephew a box of cereal [lucky charms] by way of the u.s.p.o. last year. he was in afghanistan. about six days from houston to there. different rates for speed, box size, weight. the post office has all the boxes and paper work. address is what you need. names, or company commander. or ask for someone from here that has a loved one there. if more than one name pops up, i'm sure others will take the trip to the post office. i will. thanks for the soon to be joy.

If y'all have family members to ship to I'd go that route first...but if you're still looking for a place to send it, I can get you some APO's.
