    What ligament?

What ligament is it that feels like it comes from the lower leg to the knee on the inside and just to most the front inner part of your lower leg just below the knee? Is that the acl?

Hurts when I try and twist my lower leg/foot...feels like it is bruised around that lower knee where it connects?

Interior cruciate. I tore my ACL and had complete reconstructive surgery, so I have alot of experience with the knee. My hamstring tendon is now my new ligament.

        ACl is in the front.
        PCL is behind it.
MCL is oustide of the knee (away form the opposite leg)
LCL is inside of the knee (towards the opposite leg)

Hard to say with the description. For your ACL look up the “anterior drawer sign”, you can have someone help you and compare both knees then see what you think. What were you doing when you injured it? Coach you have your collaterals backwards, medial is the inside. Snipe its anterior, I guess you could call all them interior!

so the pic would be of a left knee correct?

if that is the case, I am guessing my pain is from the LCL basically right where the label is...

I have a knee brace that I keep around as I get this every once in a while...seems like it just happens and not ever during anything stressful or exercise or jogging or anything...just like a step the wrong way or something PLINK....DOH....

after looking up mcl and lcl it looks like mcl is inside and lcl is outside....whatever it is, it is painful/tender on the lower front inside of the face of my knee....

does it mean anything if it kind of has a burning sensation to it with the neoprene and hinged knee brace on?

when walking it's painful, just barely to let it straighten, kind of like it is/was hyperextended kind of feel...

ACL limits extension. PCL limits knee flexion. Don't forget about meniscus tears as a potential culprit as well. Most of the time if you tear or avulse a ligament/tendon you will know it at that very moment, not when walking away. I'd bet its a mild capsule or meniscus injury and could possibly be a strain to the medial portion of the paterllar tendon. At any rate RICE(rest ice compression elevtion) for the first couple days and if the pain dosen't subside seek medical attention. Good luck man.

Petela however you spell. I tore that my acl, mcl my senior year at ULL. PCL isn't that bad unless it tears and folds. Mine tore and folded under me knee cap and created major pain. Key is if it hurt going down stairs it's pcl if upstairs mcl. All in all quick rehab for both. No pain after procedure, I was run 6 days after not fast but heals very quick.

the most pain is when I try and get in my wife's car...this is my right leg so you know how you will kind of lift your right knee/leg and it twists a little clockwise...yeah that....that's the wrong way to move it...lol

oddly the figity leg bounce is always with the same right leg and is in no way impacted by the issue...ha

absorbine jr and doan's seem to help a bit...lol....

                      GETTING OLD SUCKS!

brain says yes, body says no..but always after the fact....

fyi, mcl is on inside, lcl is on outside. Sounds like either an mcl or medial meniscus

not sure where I heard meniscus before but that is exactly what came to mind when I started looking around...

I will say that after two gel ice packs last night, it feels MUCH better....can walk without cringing or favoring the leg and did not even realize it for a bit....so on with another ice pack this morning!

No help with the ligament, but your avatar pic is hilarious.

Actually sounds like IT band problem iliotibial on the outside of the knee. Usually called runners knee.
