I'm up here in the middle of fly fishing heaven....less than an hour from the giant salmonfly hatches on the Gunnison and less than 2 hours from the green drake hatch oon the Frying pan......
Anybody interested in swapping some Rocky mtn. trout fishing for some red/speck fly fishing?
If yoou aren't familiar with the hatches or rivers I mentioned...google them. Both are famous, and the Frying Pan is one of the only pllaces in the US where you can catch the trout slam (Rainbow, Brown, Brook, and Cutthroat) in the same water. I have personally caught them all in one day up there (July 2010) and am now ruined for life.
Best times to come up would be either mid June (salmon fly hatch on the Gunnison - one of the only places you will see 20 plus inch browns rising to dry flies in broad daylight), or 1st 1/2 of July (drake hatch on the Frying Pan).
Anyone interested in doing a little swap-a-rooski?
