Chris, did the temp on your Ford go through the roof when it went in to REGEN mode or whatever?

Yup Ford said it was normal but according to my brain housing group it was too dang high, the DPF is a horrible freakin idea - I dumped that trash as quick as I could. I don't miss the cost at all but I do miss my truck with that 250 tune - it would move!

I've got a Bullydog on my '10 powerstroke... Haven't done anything with the exhaust yet, waiting to see how much I owe Uncle Sam.

Overall, got about 3-4 mpg on the highway, sometimes getting 20 mpg. And NO, that's not from the digital display, calculated mileage.

If you can keep your foot out of it "most of the time", they do pay for themselves with the fuel savings.

Not to hijack, anyone got any good suggestions for exhaust systems on the Ford?

I called Chevrolet when mine went to 240 one afternoon dragging a dump trailer to Possum Kingdom. They told me it was normal too.......no one will ever convince me that it's a good idea to run any engine that hot. I removed that crap the next week and never looked back. It's a whole different truck now.

                  DMO --

I can't tell when mine goes into regen -- can you hear it?

(but I changed the fuel filter to a high efficiency one today and the mileage went from 7.1 to 11.5 towing 9000# at 65 mph.) I guess I'm good with that for now.

what you want is the H&S minni maxx tuner and the straight pipe which deletes your DPF.
The mini maxx has different setting for your driving style.
you can check out the turner and dpf delete kit at rollinsmoke.com

No, but the temp would go to 225 or so, in the summer time. When I hauled that dump trailer (7,500lbs empty) to Possum Kingdom it was 104.....and it got over 235. Luckily it got done with that before I headed home, because it weighed about 22,000 coming home.

Guys be careful about dpf deletes. We had a customer outside of Kerrrville on I-10 that got busted for egr delete on a 6.0 Ford.It cost him 15k dollars and they towed his truck. Dps knows about these mods and are stopping people and checking. This is a very easy way for the government to generate income.Be careful.

Check out the Smarty downloader from Mads electronics. It's had a lot of good reviews. I recommend not getting a tuner or downloader that raises rail pressure unless you have upgraded injectors. The Smarty has a lot of user setting so you can customize to your application.
